Summer Employment Foundations Academy
The Summer Employment Foundations Academy (SEFA) is an intensive two-week program planned and facilitated by De La Salle North Catholic High School, our Corporate Partners, and volunteers to prepare students for success at their corporate jobs. All incoming freshmen must complete this training to be officially accepted to our school.
SEFA equips students for their Corporate Work Study assignments with training in three key areas:
- Personal development: Students will receive advice on public speaking, positive work attitude, and conflict resolution.
- Business etiquette: Students will learn about professional behavior, attire, and phone etiquette, how to greet and converse with adults in the workplace, and how to be proactive during office downtime.
- Entry-level office skills: Students will learn how to operate copiers, fax machines, computers and phone systems. They will also learn the basics of the Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel.
