About Us

De La Salle North Catholic High School opened in 2001 to provide a faith-based, college preparatory high school education to underserved students in the North Portland area. We are sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers and are a part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon. DLSNC was the first school to replicate the innovative Corporate Work Study program pioneered by Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago. We are proud to be identified as the most diverse private high school in all of Oregon.

Students at De La Salle North Catholic attend class four days per week and work for a local company one day each week as part of our Corporate Work Study program (CWS). CWS provides valuable real-world work experience, giving them a competitive edge for future employment opportunities. It also helps offset the cost to educate students by approximately 50%, allowing us to maintain the lowest tuition of any private high school in the Portland metropolitan region. No admitted student is turned away because they cannot afford our modest tuition, and a large portion of our students receive financial aid.

We aim to develop tomorrow’s community leaders by making high-quality education accessible to motivated young people in a learning environment that values cultural, spiritual, and ethnic diversity. We have a student-to-teacher ratio of 13:1 and an average classroom size of 21. We are a small, caring community where students get individualized attention, and we are very proud of our cumulative college acceptance rate of 98%
